Mindy Byerly*
Financial Advisor

Mindy's journey into accounting and finance took a unique path. After graduating from the University of Illinois with a degree in Bioengineering, she began her career at Caterpillar Inc. as a Supply Chain Engineer. While leading a variety of supply chain projects, she found herself drawn to the work of the accounting team. The more she collaborated with them, the more fascinated she became with financial accounting and reporting. That curiosity grew into a passion—one that ultimately inspired her to pursue postgraduate studies in Accounting at Bradley University, where she is currently continuing to expand her knowledge.

When she's not working or studying, Mindy treasures time with her husband, Adam, their two children, and the family's dog and cat. She also enjoys cycling, sewing, reading, and exploring new places with her family.

David M. Krake*, CLU, ChFC, LUTCF
Financial Advisor

Dave is the founder of Krake Financial and, as of August 1, is enjoying a well-earned retirement. His career in the financial industry began in 1975 when he joined Mutual Security Life. After starting out with a focus on insurance and related services, Dave's interests evolved toward comprehensive financial planning and the management of investment accounts—a direction that would ultimately shape the foundation of Krake Financial.

Dave has always had a love for both people and numbers. He earned his degree in Mathematics from Spring Arbor University before continuing his studies in Mathematics and Economics at Michigan State University. His analytical skills, combined with a genuine interest in helping others, guided his decades-long career and the relationships he built along the way.

Dave and his wife, Vicki, live in Central Illinois, where they raised their three sons and are now proud grandparents to ten grandchildren. Together, they enjoy traveling, hiking, and photography—Dave is behind the camera, and Vicki graciously plays the role of patient companion. Dave has also devoted significant time to charitable work, serving as Chairman or President for several organizations over the years.
